Skoda Kushaq Facelift Spotted Testing, Expected To Launch In 2026
Skoda launched the Kushaq in 2021 and has not given it an update of any sort since then. However, Skoda plans to give the compact SUV a facelift and schedule its launch in 2026. The facelifted Kushaq will feature more unique design cues and additional features than the outgoing model.
Styling Changes
Skoda plans to provide the Kushaq with cosmetic enhancements and additional powertrain options. The ‘Modern Solid’ design language of the brand will be followed for the facelifted Kushaq. The Kylaq introduced this design language in India and will feature it in other models over the next two years.
Expected Features
The test mules also reveal ADAS sensors in the Kushaq. However, it remains uncertain if the ADAS functionality will be available for the Indian market. The Kushaq facelift will feature a 360-degree camera, improved connected car technology, and much more.
Powertrain Options
The Kushaq facelift will be powered by the same 1.0-litre turbo 3-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 120 HP and 178 NM of torque. Additionally, there is also a 1.5-litre turbo 4-cylinder, producing 148 HP and 250 NM of torque.
The transmission combinations can increase from just the automatic transmission and 6-speed manual transmission, adding to the versatility of the vehicle.
Outlook
The Kushaq is in a hyper-competitive market, competing with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra 3XO. The rivals equip their vehicles with features and innovative ways to enhance the day-to-day experience. Unfortunately, the Kushaq was launched at the very start of this SUV renaissance, so it doesn’t get some of the latest technology.
It is expected that the facelifted Kushaq will result in increased sales of the SUV. Additionally, this also brings the pressure upon Volkswagen to launch the Taigun facelift as well.
