The fourth-generation Octavia RS uses the familiar EA888 2.0-litre, four pot, turbo-petrol engine, producing 265hp and 370Nm. The same 2.0 TSI block is also used in the Skoda Kodiaq RS, and even in the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Transmission duties, like in the Skoda SUV and Volkswagen hatchback, are handled by a quick-shifting 7-speed DSG (or dual-clutch) automatic gearbox. Skoda claims a 0-100kph time of 6.4 seconds with the Octavia RS, topping out at 250kph (electronically limited).
