Bajaj appears to be working on a next-generation version of the Chetak, which could be launched in early 2026.

Upcoming Bajaj Chetak
The spied scooter has a refreshed design when compared to the current generation of the Chetak. At the front, we can see the LED headlight with Chetak lettering integrated into it. The indicators which are seen on the front apron in the current model are moved to the handlebar section. The side panels are fully camouflaged, but we expect to see new graphics, colours and other minor styling tweaks.
The rear section is also new while maintaining a familiar silhouette. It gets a single taillight unit which appears to house the brake lights and LED turn indicators. Additionally, the number plate holder looks new and we also see a rear tyre hugger. The bike gets a telescopic front fork, and twin rear shocks. Other changes we can see include a rectangular LCD and the switchgear also appears to be new.
One of the main changes is that the scooter appears to feature a hub-mounted motor. The existing Chetak has a swingarm-mounted motor in comparison. A hub motor is designed to be integrated directly into a wheel hub for direct drive power. We can expect to see the same battery pack setup which is either 3 kWh or a 3.5 kWh. If Bajaj carries forward the same battery options, expect similar claimed ranges of 127 km and 153 km respectively.
We can expect this to be a lower or a mid-spec variant considering that it misses out on a TFT screen and keyless ignition. Bajaj is likely to launch this scooter in early 2026 where we shall get all of the specifications in detail.
