
The third-generation Amaze was launched in India in December 2025 with new features, including a segment-first Level 1 ADAS suite. This Honda sedan has now been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP, receiving a 5-star rating. Its prime rival, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, was also awarded 5 stars by Bharat NCAP in June 2025. A detailed breakdown of the adult safety scores shows that the Amaze has achieved 0.16 points more in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, while the Dzire fared better in the side movable barrier test by 1.29 points.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Amaze offered ‘good’ protection to all critical parts of the co-driver. The driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet received ‘good’ protection, while the chest and both tibias received ‘adequate’ protection. In the side movable deformable barrier test, protection to the passenger’s head, abdomen and pelvis was ‘good’, but for the chest, it was ‘marginal’. All parts of the Amaze occupant received ‘good’ protection in the side pole impact test.

The Dzire, in its frontal offset deformable test, offered ‘good’ protection to the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet, ‘adequate’ protection for the tibias and ‘weak’ protection for the chest. The co-driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and left tibia received ‘good’ protection, while the right tibia received ‘adequate’ protection. In the side movable deformable test, all parts of the occupant received ‘good’ protection, except the chest, which got ‘adequate’ protection. In the side pole impact test, protection to all parts of the passenger was rated ‘good’.
Takeaway
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Honda Amaze provided ‘good’ protection to all parts of the co-driver, unlike the Dzire, whose co-driver’s chest and right tibia received ‘adequate’ protection. Moreover, protection to the Dzire driver’s chest was marked ‘weak’, which for the Honda driver was a better ‘adequate’. This explains the Honda sedan having a better frontal offset deformable score.

In the side movable deformable barrier test, however, the passenger’s chest protection in the Amaze was marked ‘weak’ in comparison to the Dzire’s passenger having an ‘adequate’ rating. This is why the Dzire has a better score in the side movable deformable barrier test.
Both sub-4m rivals, however, offered ‘good’ protection to all critical parts of the passenger in the side pole impact tests, scoring an ‘OK’ rating.

In the COP tests, the 18-month-old dummies in the Amaze and Dzire, with their rearward-facing child seats, received 8 out of 8 points in the frontal crash protection and 4 out of 4 in side protection. While both sedans also scored a full 4 out of 4 points in the side protection score for the 18-month-old dummy, the Dzire lost 0.43 points in the frontal crash test, scoring 7.57 out of 8 points. On the other hand, the Amaze scored a full 8 out of 8 points.
Takeaway

The difference in the 18-month-old dummy’s frontal crash protection is also reflected in the child safety dynamic score, where the Honda Amaze outperforms the Dzire. While both rivals score a full 12 out of 12 points in the CRS installation criteria, the Honda offering scores one point less than the Dzire in the vehicle assessment score. This has resulted in the Amaze losing one star in the child safety rating, with 0.76 fewer points in the COP score.

Both come with basic safety features, but Amaze gets segment-first ADAS

Both the sub-4m sedans come with 6 airbags as standard, ISOFIX child seat anchorages on the rear seat, ESC, reverse parking sensors, 3-point seatbelts for all seats and hill-hold assist. However, the Dzire comes with a 360-degree camera, whereas the Amaze lacks it.
The Amaze, on the other hand, gets a segment-first Level 1 ADAS suite and a lane watch camera, both of which are now offered with the Dzire.
The price range for the Amaze is Rs 7.41 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, while that of the Dzire is Rs 6.26 lakh to Rs 9.31 lakh. Both sedans also rival the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
