Maruti Fronx leads the sub-compact SUV segment, the highest selling car in February
The sub-compact SUV sector is quickly developing and now accounts for a sizable portion of sales in India. The Maruti Fronx leads by a large margin, with 21,461 units sold, representing a 51% increase over the previous year.
Its brother, the Maruti Brezza, takes second place with 15,392 units sold. Meanwhile, the Tata Nexon ranks third with 15,349 units shipped, representing a 7% year-on-year increase. The Tata Punch comes fourth with 14,559 units, despite a 21% drop from the previous year.
The Hyundai Venue ranks sixth in the sub-compact SUV rankings, with 10,125 units sold, representing a 13% year-on-year increase. Notably, seven of the 15 cars on the list have seen a decrease in sales compared to February 2025.
Among the newcomers, the Kia Syros and Skoda Kylaq have made a good impression, selling 5425 and 3636 units, respectively. Achieving such numbers so soon after launch is a significant accomplishment.
On the low end of the sales chart, the Renault Kiger sold 433 copies, representing a huge 59% decrease. The Maruti Jimny, which sold 385 units, saw a 20% gain. The Citroën C3 (ICE and EV types) had the lowest sales, with only 187 vehicles sold, representing a 36% decrease.
