Bookings for the Urban Cruiser Ebella have commenced, with three variants on offer – E1, E2 and E3 – and Toyota has stated that prices should be announced in the coming weeks. Speaking of which, the Urban Cruiser Ebella price is expected to be in the Rs 19 lakh-24 lakh (ex-showroom) region. Toyota has also confirmed an 8-year battery warranty, 60 percent buyback assurance and a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) programme.

Front end sports major differences compared to e Vitara

Though the Urban Cruiser Ebella and e Vitara are the same underneath the skin, the Toyota EV does sport design differences, most of which are up front. The Urban Cruiser Ebella’s fascia is completely unique, featuring triangular headlights with segmented eyebrow-like daytime running lamps (DRLs), lots of gloss-black trim, slim vertical air intakes and a minimal silver skid plate.

At the side, the Urban Cruiser Ebella gets 18-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels, the design for which is identical to the e Vitara’s. The generous body cladding, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, sloping roofline and rear bumper design have been carried over, too. However, the Urban Cruiser Ebella’s rear light bar does have a different LED signature.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella will come with 49kWh and 61kWh LFP battery pack options, both powering a front-mounted electric motor. Output in the 49kWh guise is 144hp, while the 61kWh variants bump it up to 174hp; torque is fixed at 189Nm for both battery packs.

As for the ARAI-rated range, the Urban Cruiser Ebella 49kWh manages 440km, while the 61kWh version can travel 543km on a single charge.
