The Tata Punch EV is set to receive its first facelift tomorrow, marking an important update for Tata Motors’ most affordable electric SUV. While the Punch EV has been on sale for just over two years, this refresh has been timed to bring it in line with the recently updated ICE Punch, and to keep it competitive in a fast-moving entry-EV space.
Although Tata Motors has not revealed full details yet, enough information has emerged to give you a clear picture of what the Punch EV facelift is likely to bring.

What exterior changes will the Tata Punch EV facelift get?
Subtle design revisions with EV-specific cues.
Ahead of its launch, Tata has revealed the exterior of the Punch EV facelift. The front end gets a redesigned bumper with a closed-off grille. The black trim element that previously linked the headlamps has been removed, giving the front a cleaner appearance. Lower down, the scuff plate has also been subtly redesigned. The Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps and the centrally mounted charging flap continue unchanged.
The facelifted Punch EV also gets updated aero-optimised alloy wheels, inspired by those seen on the larger Nexon EV. Tata has also confirmed new exterior colour options – a yellow colour similar to the ‘Sunlit Yellow’ shade seen on the Harrier and a metallic copper shade, paired with a black roof.
At the rear, the Punch EV facelift features connected LED tail-lamps, in line with the updated ICE Punch.
What interior changes are expected on the Punch EV facelift?
Could get a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Inside, the Punch EV facelift is expected to retain the existing dashboard layout, but with updated interior colour schemes and trim finishes. Tata is also expected to introduce a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system on higher variants running new software. This would likely be borrowed from the Nexon EV and replace the current 10.25-inch unit.
A Level 2 ADAS suite could also be a part of the Punch EV facelift's safety kit.
Existing features such as the 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car tech and a 360-degree camera are expected to be retained.
Will the Punch EV facelift get a new battery or powertrain?

The most significant update on the Punch EV facelift is expected to be the introduction of a larger battery pack. Tata has indicated that the updated Punch EV will get a higher-capacity battery, although the exact size and claimed range have not yet been disclosed.
Alongside this new option, the Punch EV facelift is expected to continue with the existing 25kWh and 35kWh battery packs. Both use a single front-mounted electric motor, with the 25kWh version producing 82hp and 114Nm, and the 35kWh version delivering 122hp and 190Nm.
On the current Punch EV, the 25kWh variant has a claimed range of 265km, while the 35kWh version is rated at up to 365km on a single charge. With the facelift, these claimed range figures could see a slight change, depending on updates to the battery and calibration.

The Tata Punch EV facelift will be launched tomorrow. A marginal price increase over the current model – priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom) – is likely, especially for variants with the larger battery.
Once launched, the Punch EV facelift will continue to rival the Citroen eC3 in the entry-level electric vehicle segment.
