BMW has launched the highly anticipated production version of the F 450 GS at EICMA 2025. With the G 310 GS discontinued, this adventure bike serves as an entry point into BMW’s GS line-up and will be made in India by TVS.
The F 450 GS has a kerb weight of 178kg, gets quad-LED DRLs (daytime running lamps) inspired by the R 1300 GS, a single disc brake at the front and a golden-coloured USD fork. Its 420cc twin-cylinder engine produces 48hp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 43Nm at 6,750 rpm.
Available in three variants in India – Basic, Exclusive and Trophy. The bike is equipped with the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for significantly improved operating and riding comfort, as well as dynamics. It is offered as standard in the GS Trophy trim level and can be retrofitted to all other variants.
The F 450 GS’s front end gets a KYB upside-down fork; the rear has a KYB monoshock, adjustable for spring preload and rebound, with travel-dependent damping. The braking system is by Brembo (front) and Bybre (rear), working in conjunction with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro for safe braking even when leaning. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Dynamic Brake Light are additional safety features.
Priced at Rs 4.70 lakh for the Base variant, Rs 4.90 lakh for the Exclusive variant and Rs 5.30 lakh for the GS Trophy, the F 450 GS enters India as BMW’s most accessible GS offering, combining a twin-cylinder engine, relatively low kerb weight and a comprehensive feature set.
